In C.J. Dennis’ The Songs of a Sentimental Bloke you will see a full staged version of all 14 of Dennis’ Songs (long poems) from a century ago. It’s the charming story of Bill, a young ne’er do well who decides to turn his life around. He sees and falls for the lovely Doreen and we follow their friendship through its ups and downs as they court, wed, become farmers and finally have a child. Every song is included in full and the show will be performed in the round, with audience on all sides. If you feel like being hugged by a play, come along and snuggle up to Bill, Doreen, Ginger Mick, Mar and Uncle Jim. This is a very family friendly show, so bring all the relatives along.
